Dear Dr Jurczyszyn,

My apologies to you for being so tardy in corresponding with you.

The concept of having a Myeloma Treatment Foundation to support a center for myeloma treatment in Poland is a superb idea. With the explosion of newer treatments for myeloma, it is critical that there be a central medical facility with knowledge in the malignancy, since the opportunities for treatment are vast, but complicated. It is not possible for the average oncologist, hematologist, or cancer center to provide the finesse and extra expertise required for optimal treatment of patients with myeloma. Further, concentrating patients in one facility allows research to be performed in a meaningful way that will help advance the field forward.

I am aware of the outstanding work you have already achived in myeloma therapy and believe the establishment of such a center in Poland would not only expedite the optimal care of myeloma patients in the area, but would also enhance the reputation of Polish medicine.

I do wish you the best of luck in your efforts, and do hope that you will continue to make your seminal observations in this malignant disease where major inroads to its effective treatment are occurring in an ever increasing frequency.

My very best regards,

Morton Coleman, M.D.
